Tears and goosebumps. That was my adolescence and Annette was my idol.

Always poised, always focused, always beautiful. Talented dancer. Natural actress. Barely could sing in the beginning but worked at it and in later years made some impressive recordings. Obviously bright as a penny and very down to earth.

Some people have star quality and some don’t. It’s not about being the most beautiful or most talented. Annette had looks and talent of course, but she had that magical something extra that drew us to her. And, what a wonderful career she had as a result. Bless her.

Tears in my eyes. I saw the Mickey Mouse Club in re-runs (I was born in 1955, the year it went on the air) and I loved it. Great memories.

I would trade my laptop, my iPod, my Blackberry, my Blue Ray, my 55″ LCD 1080p TV, my Mercedes and on and on for just one day back when I sat Indian style on the floor and would watch reruns of the MM Club. Those were the days. No bike helmets, out till Mom called us in for dinner without a worry.
It was a better world then. It really, really was.

Yes , it was a much better world then . I may have seen some of the 1958 or 1959 originals at 5 or 6 years old. But reruns started in 1961 and i think most of us remember the reruns. All these are on dvd, 1955-1959 .
jonsaguard posted: 23 Jan at 8:56 pm
@Hunterunc She really did have something that drew us to her. There has not been a TV/movie magnet since.
